Our resident instructors volunteer their time to share their knowledge about crochet. The group also attracts guest instructors/speakers from the DFW Metroplex and beyond. We offer classes on techniques as well as small projects. Classes are free for members and first-time visitors unless otherwise noted. Classes for non-members are $10 plus supplies unless otherwise noted.
Sarah Zink, from Sarah’s Bag Ladies, will teach us how to convert used grocery bags into ‘plarn’ (plastic yarn), which is then used to crochet mats for the homeless. They have partnered with the Fort Worth and Arlington Salvation Army organizations to distribute these mats to those who need them most.
The Shibaguyz are the designers of the pattern for our August class, Broomstick Lace Without the Broom Stick. Molly will lead that class.
The Yarn Crawl is Aug 17 – 26, with a kick off picnic on July 28 at Coppell Square.
Molly will also teach our class in September, post stitch crochet, creating a square with an awareness ribbon. (Pink for breast cancer, yellow to support our troops, red for heart disease, blue for child abuse prevention, purple for pancreatic cancer, etc. Each color has multiple meanings.)
In October, Beth will teach how to make T-shirt yarn (Tarn) with an item to make from it.
